My teaching philosophy is my goal in order
to effectively teach all my students in the future and instill them a
love of learning not only in classroom, but throughout their everyday lives. I
am person who believe on differentiation. Understanding that each child is
unique and every student learn in different ways. I believe it is essential for
educators to differentiate our lessons to better meet the needs of our students.
My Teaching Philosophy
Teaching is a profession that
can yield something amazing when the right ideas and beliefs are implemented in
the classroom. I believe that the purpose of teaching is not to teach students
how to memorize facts, or how to know all the correct answers. The purpose of
teaching lies in getting students to truly understand the concepts being
examined.
Additionally,
because all students are different, they will respond differently to
assessments, thus I believe in giving a multitude of assessment including:
tests or quizzes, papers and other assessments to gain a better understanding
of what my students know.
I also believe that as a teacher, I must know what to teach in my classroom. It
is vital that I have a solid understanding of the subject matter being taught.
I realize that I cannot rely solely on textbooks, but rather I must seek out
other sources of information to aid in my teaching.
I will be a facilitator in my classroom. As a facilitator, I will guide my
students through the subject matter in order to assist the students in their
own discoveries. The constructivist learning theory is one that I believe to be
worthwhile, thus I agree with the fact that students can construct their own
learning in my classroom.
I view teaching as a process of encouraging to make connections between their
real world experiences and the subject being studied. It is important to
provide students with hands-out activities in order to make this connection.
Entering this field of education where new technologies are being implemented,
I will continue to keep myself educated and constantly reading and learning
about new ways that meet the needs of my students even more effectively.
Hopefully
I am able to become a great teacher in the future. Teacher is a very
noble profession If a doctor can cure patient illnesses, a teacher can
change a person perspective towards the real world.
